INDONESIA READY GOES TO EURO 4

JAKARTA - The government plan to increase the waste gas emissions standard vehicles, from the previous Euro 2 to Euro 4. This is to follow the development of the automotive industry and the world export market demand.

Since January 2007 set in Indonesia are valid waste gas emissions standard vehicles on Euro 2. But for the more pressing level of air pollution, say these standards will be promoted Euro 4.

"In the coming years we will go towards the implementation of Euro 4 emission standard," said Director of the Department of Transportation Industrial Equipment Industry Panggah Susanto, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The automotive industry also recommend to follow this government step by providing environment-friendly vehicles, in addition to improving efficiency in the use of fuel oil (BBM).

"Facilities and infrastructure must be prepared to set new standards, including emission testing facilities and the availability of fuel that meet the Euro 4 specifications," he said.
